Whiffletree Corporation's Beacon Tester

And so begs the question, what can't your Axim do? Whiffletree Corporation announced their BT100A, the ultimate in portable 406 Beacon Testers. Talk about specialized. It is capable of "measureing all Cospas-Sarsat frequency channels and decodes all Cospas-Sarsat protocols. Measures 406 MHz parameters, 121.5 MHz parameters, along with graphic displays of the 406 MHz power during the burst, the 406 MHz phase modulation, and the in-band 406 MHz frequency spectrum."

Basically, it's for measuring all different types of radio frequencies. Of course, the only one we care about is Wifi .. Still, it's nice for those who might use something like this. And at the very least, it shows manufacturers are willing to cater to PDA's, no matter how obscure the product.

p.s. This is my 200th Post!!

Really? from http://www.sarsat.noaa.gov/cospas_sarsat.html

Cospas-Sarsat is an international, humanitarian search and rescue system that uses satellites to detect and locate emergency beacons carried by ships, aircraft, or individuals. The system consists of a network of satellites, ground stations, mission control centers, and rescue coordination centers.
It's a Search and Rescue receiver. Primarily for beacon testing it seems.

Ahh okay. See, it was hard to make out that information on the article with all that funky terminology. I will make the appropriate changes.

The SARSAT tipped me off. That's Search and Rascue Satellite. From there, being a comm engineer helped.
