spreadsheet viewer for Blackberry 8800 series

A relative of mine recently purchased a new Blackberry 8800 series mobile device (I don't know if it's the 8800 or the 8830, but it's the device with GPS built in). He transitioned from a Windows Mobile Smartphone that only gave him problems, and so was used to things like Word and Excel Mobile that he could open his documents in.

He recently approached me with a problem...if he receives an email with an Excel spreadsheet attached to it, he'd like to be able to download it to his device (ie, separate it from his email), open it, and perform searches in it. He doesn't necessarily need to edit it, but he does need a search capability.

I'm not very familiar with how Blackberry's work...what can you suggest for him?

The BB can view spreadsheets but it's native viewer is not very good. There's some 3rd party software that is available. I haven't tried it mainly because of cost. It aint't pocket change.

Yes, but can the native viewer separate the spreadsheet from an email? My relative doesn't want to accidentally delete an email with a document he needs, and so wants to download the spreadsheet to the device.
