Transfering Files via Bluetooth to T68i
So I'm curious if I'm missing something here. My friend's got a T68i cell phone and I was messing around with it with my 2210 sending contacts and events, etc...

Now, it appears that the only way to transfer files to the phone is via IR.. Is this right? Or have I completely missed something? Tap and holding on a file only allows you to send via IR... There doesn't appear to be a Bluetooth option.

Thanks!

You have to use the Bluetooth Manager that comes installed on your ROM on your 2210. Go into there and first select the option to look for units in your area. It will find the T68i and you will be able to "pair" with that unit and share files.

Motorola is the same thing, except the device you paired with would obviously be a Motorola not a Sony Ericsson.

But now that I think about it, I don't know any Motorola phones with Bluetooth. So how would that work?

There are some moto phones with BT (ex v600 will have BT) that is the only one I know offhand that has BT and the moto site is running very sluggishly currently so I cannot check if there are others with BT.

ChAoz, does your phone have BT? If not the you will need to to use IRDa to transfer files/contacts. Some moto phones don't have either BT or IRDa (ex v300 & v120). If your phone has neither then your only option to transfer files/contacts is with a data cable to your comp.

With the v525 you can send pictures via MMS messaging or BlueTooth. If you've ever sent a txet message with a phone sending MMS is almost exactly the same.

If you want to use BT to transfer files then all you need to do is pair the two phones. Then if the option to transfer files is there, it is very similiar to moving files from computer to computer via a network. Beware however that just because the devices have been paired you may not be able to share files between the two phones. I paired my SE T610 with my friends SE T610 but he was unable to copy files from my phone. I could copy files from his to mine without problem though. I believe the reason for this is I've paired my phone with my computer and transferred themes & ringtones between the two. After alittle research we found that the phone must be paired with a computer or PDA before you can transfer files. It was cool as I "borrowed" half a dozen ringtones from his phone
