One known issue is that TomTom 3 locks up the Bluetooth port 8 on my iPAQ2210 making it impossible to run any other application that uses the same Bluetooth port. After removing parts of TomTom and reinstall old drivers I finally got it to work. The question is if TomTom 5 has the same problems? I’m thinking about an upgrade but I don’t know if I want to spend so much money on something that doesn’t work properly from start.

I recently upgraded from tt3 to tt5 and was disapointed..and gone back to tt3..
1. cannot change menu options to suit..
2. cannot use checkpoint 3.2 or sound files of aproaching speed cams just only sound files stored are bell sounds or animal sounds..
3.screen maps small as compass mph etc takes up too much space..
4.just not user friendly if you are use to tt3..
but maps are better and you can move screen sideways (widescreen mode)
and postcodes..(can download postcodes for tomtom 3 which I have)

p.s have you tryied downloading tomtom3 3.07 upgrade with 3.07 gps..
go to tomtom site to download..
please note.. must have offical tomtom 3 software not copy for this to work or you will freeze up your tt3 maps...

Tomtom has now released an upgrade on their website to navigator 5 it is 5.10 solves all the bluetooth problems! Also PDA no longer freezes when leaving program much better!
Only problem still takes the long way round

All of the GPS software apps based on NavTech maps seem to do this...
