Can't find GPS
Major trouble! I have iPAQ 2210, Holux GR230 and TomTom 4.40 (3.07). Everything has been working fine. After some tip on this forum I’ve done a Bluetooth update from HP and replaced the ~GPS driver with an old one to make other GPS applications work. So far so good.

Yesterday I had to make a hard reset and install everything again. Now TomTom can’t find the GPS-device! I have reinstalled a couple of times with no result. I can pair the Holux with my iPAQ and the signal strength is OK. I have installed GPS-viewer and it finds a GPS-device on port 8. I have configured TomTom to use port 8 and it still doesn’t work. Any ideas on how to proceed?

I don't know why it would stop working and this suggestion is doubtful. However it is possible that the port you are trying to use is in use by another program.

Go to this link http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/winfastnavigatorppc.php and download freeware Winfast, follow the tutorial. Basically WinFast will assess your ports and identify and problems.

TomTom and their rubbish drivers! My neighbour has a 2110 and it works like it should. It worked with my 2210 before but not now. But if I use “other NEMA cable GPS” and chooses the Bluetooth port 8 it works… I’ll keep it like this for now. Thanks!
