I purchased the
Icombu AH10 headphones recently. They come with the headphones, an
IPOD dongle and a USB and wall charger. They are advertised to use CSR's world-leading BlueCore silicon technology and have the A2DP and AVRCP profiles supported. The reviews indicate that they can be linked to any Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, laptop, MP3 music or multimedia device. The reviews also indicate that they use adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) to maintain the strength of the Bluetooth link by avoiding 'busy' frequencies. The reviews also indicate that they have
incoming call detection while listening to music and will reconnect to music when the call is hung up.
My intent was to use the headphones to tie my IPOD and cell phone together. I also wanted to be able to use them on the occasion that I wanted to listen to music off my IPAQ.
The device sets up quiet well as an IPOD device. The instructions are concise and easy to follow. Pretty much plug in the dongle and turn on the charged up headphones and you are playing music BT off your IPOD. The headphones have a fairly good sound and are fairy comfortable. I have a large head and get a slight contact point behind one of my ears. My 10 year old son wore them for several hours with no problems. The controls on the headphones controlled the IPOD with no problems.
Mu IPAQ 2755, LG VX8100 and D-Ling BT dongle on my desktop all were able to pair with the headphones. Unfortunately none were able to establish any kind of service that would allow these devices to access the headphones. (I had similar problems with the Logitech BT IPOD headphones).
They were fairly reasonable at
$99. For this price I would have probably kept them even if they didn't connect to other BT devices. However. while they worked great when sitting still when I put the IPOD in my pocket and started walking around they started dropping the signal/sound.
I'm going to be returning them on Monday and am looking forward to the release of the
Imuff's. A competing product which will hopefully deliver on the promise.
