Do you have a bluetooth adapter for your PC?

I have successfully synched my PPC (and palm btw) with my computer using BT. I have the Kensington adaptor for my pc. You need to set up the active synch in the BT manager on the PPC for it to work. Also I discovered that different BT adapters for the PC are able to do different things with outside divices and there are BT adapters that cannot synch with PPC. I have had problems with the Dell card in the work laptop and I have heard others complain about other adapters with palm devices. Until Windows supports BT native like the apples there will always be limitations based on what drivers the BT adapter chose to integrate. Theoretically I should be able to file transfer and listen to music between the two devices but my adapter only supports synch.

Another note on the kensington adapter, I have problems connecting if the computer has been running long and need to reboot. It is irritating since I leave the PC running all the time but do not synch every day.

This is how I do it with my hx4705: turn on BT on your PPC. Open BT Manager. Choose 'New'. Chose option 'ActiveSync via Bluetooth'. The PPC will search for available PCs. Chose your PC from the list. Device will pair. You should be good to go.

Also, try the search function there is loads of stuff on this.

Good Lord finally!
Thank you for the advice. I worked with my first BT setup not redoing it all! Not it works perfect.

Question: is it possible to activsync with bluetooth and still use the USB cradle also. Not at the same time just do you have the option without removing the bluetooth connection.

Yes, it is possible. I do it all the time.
Once set up it works great, especislly when you don't feel like getting up and walking over and logging onto the PC...

Not just possible but necessary since (on my ppc at least) I can't send very big files eg videos over on bluetooth, it just hangs.
