4705 and Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard
I can not get my keyboard to connect to my 4705. I have tried everything I can think of. I have tried the old rom 1.00 and the new 1.10 and still nothing. I installed latest drivers from Thinkoutside and made the keyboard discoverable but still no luck.

Any help, Please.

First off, make sure that you install the drivers in memory NOT filestore/SD/CF card. I had problem with mine until I read the manual LOL.

Cheers

Hi Yojimbo, I installed the drivers to default location. I have tryed secure and non-secure connections. I have the green flashing light, I am using version 4.3 drivers from Thinkoutside, I have even tried connecting to my old Palm T3, my T3 does see the device as 00:03:C9:A2:22: D8 but the connection fails.

after installation, you should have a keyboard icon at the bottom right corner.
click it to open
click enable
click on bt wireless keyboard
click setup

make sure you have the flashing green light on your Stowaway keyboard. If not, you need to press cntrl - blue fnt - green fnt simultaneously.

You should see a bt authentication on your ipaq and a box for you to enter your pass.

USE YOUR ONSCREEN KEYBOARD to enter the pass NOT THE STOWAWAY KEYBOARD

Once, you entered your pass, you now need to enter the same pass on your Stowaway keyboard by holding down the left fnt key [blue]
While still holding down the left fnt key, hit enter [ok]

you should now be connected. Let me know if that works.

Cheers

Nope, it never connects, it never finds my keyboard. I even hard reset my device and just installed the keyboard software and drivers. I have reflashed my rom to version 1.00 and installed the same and still nothing.

Ok, got good news here. After fighting for 3 days to get this keyboard thing worked out and a few emails to support we found that the keyboard I had might be faulty. I called the company that I got it from, www.electronicsoutfitter.com and they was very helpful and sent me a new keyboard overnight. I highly recommend this company to anyone. They have very good prices and excellent service. Anyway I got my new keyboard just a few minutes ago, put the batterys in it and as I already had the software installed I give it a go and low and behold it connected right up. ElectronicsOutfitter even sent me an RA number to return the old keyboard. I am so happy with my new keyboard that I had to use it to type this message. Thanks to Yojimbo for your help, your the best pal.

JD

Just received the Stowaway Bluetooth mouse by Thinkoutside from the same company and all I can say is WOW. Its like having a small desktop that you can carry in your pocket.
