Stowaway BT KBoard Help
I need help connecting my BT keyboard to my Ipaq. My Ipaq does not recognize that a BT keyboard is present.

Ipaq 4705 with WM 2003 SE, Rom date 04/13/05, Product revision level 1.0, rom revision 1.10.08 ENG

Stowaway BT Keyboard with Stowaway Keyboard driver v. 4.4 from 14 Jan. 06

Bluetooth for Windows CE BT-PPC Version 1.5.0 Build 4000 (Broadcom). (HP Asset Viewer + Bluetooth tab = Firmware V. 2.26, Hardware Revision 2.26, Driver version 0.02.00, software version 1.5.0.4000)

Keyboard driver is installed in the main memory.
The Keyboard transmits, as I was able to detect keyboard with bluetooth cell phone. Ipaq bluetooth connects to laptop using USB bluetooth stick.

I believe this has something to do with my bluetooth stack or version, but this is uncharted territory for me.

I appreciate any suggestions or ideas.

Under Settings/Personal/Input, does 'Stowaway Keyboard' show in the list of Input Methods? If not, then the keyboard driver hasn't been installed properly.

If it is listed as an option, try the following:

Turn on the keyboard.
Activate bluetooth on the Ipaq.
Under Settings/Personal/Input, select 'Stowaway Keyboard'.
Click on the 'Options' box under the Input Method, & select the BT tab.
If the Bluetooth keyboard status message displayed says 'Bluetooth system is not ready' then click on the New Connection box at the bottom left of the screen.
Make sure that the keyboard is still switched on (it sometimes turns itself off), & (on the Ipaq) click on the Connect box.

Hopefully you will see a message saying that the keyboard connection is enabled. Be aware that if you don't use the keyboard for a while it will turn itself off, in which case you will have to re-enable it.

Thanks for the tip SC.

Before I read your reply, I did a hard reset, and reinstalled the keyboard driver before any other programs (sbp pocket plus, wisbar, total commander, space reclaimer) rolling back to v. 4.2.

That did the trick. Keyboard works great.

Thanks
