BT Range?? Best dongle??
I'm hoping someone here could help me out. What kind of range can I expect from BT? I haven't used it much. The only times I have used it was to swap files with my moms 1940 from my 2210 but we were right next to each other and IR could have done that.

I'm thinking of getting a BT adapter. Is anyone aware of any reviews out there. I checked CNET without much luck. My little bro works at ChumpUSA so I'd prob get it from there to use his discount.

Besides using this for my PPC, I was wondering about skype. My wife's sister lives in France and I was wondering if BT would go to my basement like Wifi. is that a pipe dream. Ideally I'd be able to use a BT headset upstairs and connect to my PC downstairs. Am I smoking crack thinking this will work??

TIA

In all honesty your probably right in thinking that its not very likely to work at such a range. You can get 100 meter dongles but you have to remember that your actual PDA probably only has a <10 meter range itself. If your doing PC-Headset then you might be lucky enough to find a 100 meter headset, but its probably not the best idea. Remember that BT + Skype running on a PDA = huge CPU usage, skype alone takes up enough.

go for Cellink 6030/Level One 2050 (same hardware, uses Toshiba stack)
it has amazing range and RX (I can use my RX3715 to connect about 25 meters from host)
check out newegg.com, you'll surely love it
