Bluetooth LG VX8100 and iPaq hp 4355
I'm not getting very far with this conenction. Although I will admit I haven't spent more than a few minutes attempting this connection. My reason for doing is the Internet.

My LG VX8100 found the 4355 but not the reverse. The phone is not in the list of phones. (Bluetooth profiles update anywhere?) And the real kicker is that I have Verizon. Should that REALLY matter? The sales guy told me that it would.

Anybody have any luck with this? Any help would be FABULOUS!!

At one time, Verizon disabled much of the bluetooth capability (or profiles) in their phones. I think Verizon may have enabled some but not all of the bluetooth profiles in its newer phones. So you might be able to use a bluetooth enabled headset, but you may not be able to transfer files between your Phone and PDA or use your phone's connection to surf the internet - these functions use different profiles. Check with Verizon to see if that is the case with your phone.

If your phone does not show up under the BT Phone Manager in your PDA, you can generally use a default profile to connect your phone and PDA - that's what I did. However, a "Live Update" application should have been included on the CD that came with your PDA. I installed and ran "Live Update" after I had already created a Bluetooth partnership just to see what I was missing and found that now I can find my phone in the drop down list in the BT Phone Manager (big whoop.. ...).

If you are able to pair your PDA with your phone, then it is likely that your difficulties are with the phone and not the PDA.

Thanks for the info Julie! First, I bought my pda off ebay so no such disc. Could I find this 'live update' on the hp website? Second, my phone finds the pda but the pda doesn't seem to want to even search for the phone. Any suggestions?

I guess I shouldn't complain too much. Verizon is trying to look out for its customers by protecting the data network. I just wish they would hurry it up! If anyone else has any further suggestions please reply! Thanks!

I don't think Live UPdate is available on HP's website. I really don't have any idea where you might get it, or even if it will work with your PDA.

I think it has more to do with $$$ than looking out for their customers...but I guess that's one way to look at it.
