Problems with bluetooth headset and skype
Hello guys! it has been a while since my last post.

I have an iPaq hx2410 (WiFi + BT) and just got me a brand new bluetooth headset (plantronics explorer 320). The headset works just great with Skype on Windows XP. In the pocket PC, I can use it to wirelessly listen music and even take voice notes. However, when using Skype (over WiFi) I can not hear anything in the headset. Does anybody know what the problem can be?. By the way, Skype works just fine in the pocket PC without the bluetooth headset (using the iPaq built-in speakers and mic).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I have the same problem with a different bluetooth headset.

It also gets very "choppy" listening to mortplayer shoutcast streaming radio using the high quality audio profile.
mortplayer playing files from memory cards is fine. Unless wifi is in use.

Its well known that wifi and Bluetooth don't play well together because they share the same radio frequencies. The bluetooth V2.0 standard is supposed to address this issue but our iPAQ's are bluetooth 1.2

I suspect that skypes heavy wifi access and the bluetooth at the same time may be simply impractical with bt 1.2

Hi Deach,

I agree with everything you wrote but I think skype is the one that is not managing well the connections. I can use the BT headset (with windows media player or Vito soundexplorer) AND do some heavy WiFi tasks (even streaming video) with no "significant" problems. But once I close all the other programs and run skype, it just doesn't work.
