Hi All,
I recently bought THIS USB BT dongle. Unfortunately, WinXP doesn't recognize it correctly.... it comes up as an unknown device "ISSCBTA" in device manager. When I google this it points me at BlueSoleil. I never had anyluck with "BS" plus I'm using this on a corporate PC and don't have admin permission to install that software. Anyone know if I can get Windows to use a driver to recognize it without installing the "BS" software? Any help is appreciated......

Listen, I dont know if this ivt.rar is the same as you already tried to install and according to what you are saying, you dont know either, this is the actual link from the auction you won, it says in the description:
"Software can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.sibusa.com/ecom/driver/ivt.zip" There, this is the driver for your dongle, personnally, I never had any problem with Bleusoleil in my PC as I have a bluetooth dongle from Ebay that came with Bluesoleil. I suggest you uninstall any bluetooth related software and try to install this one. Good luck.

If you cant install software I seriously doubt that you will be able to install any drivers at all...that's the point.
This is what I found, you can try that if you wish at your own risks (Replace Kensington by yours) Good luck. Kinda cumbersome, but in the end, it should work. You'll need Windows Service Pack 2 First be sure to not install the drivers off the CD for the Bluetooth card. If you have, go back and uninstall it. Plug in your Kensington USB Bluetooth Dongle. You may either cancel the installation or choose to go with the installation, but do not install the drivers off the CD. Go into Device Manager and look under 'Other Devices.' Select it and go to 'Details', you will see something like this there: USB\VID_0db0&PID_697A\5&E831D1A&0&2 If there is an option called "Hardware Ids", select this option. In the area below will appear that devices Hardware ID or PnPID. You need to copy one of those strings EXACTLY from that area, into the bth.inf file. This part here - 'USB\VID_0db0&PID_697A' - is your Plug and Play Identification (PnPID). You will need to locate your Bluetooth inf file: %windir%\inf\bth.inf Opened it in notepad, read through on about line 60, under one of the device sections, and add your USB adapters PnPID like so: Kensington USB Bluetooth Adapter= BthUsb, USB\Vid_0db0&Pid_697A You'll see others listed there, follow their format. Save the file, and then delete the "USB Device" from device manager, and un-plug, and re-plug the Bluetooth adapter into your computer system. When prompted, let Windows search for a device driver, and it should pick up the adapter, and install the correct drivers for it. Also, there should now be an icon in the control panel for Bluetooth configuration.
