bluespoon spider battery fix/replacement (with pics)

I made similar thread on another forum, but since I found this may be useful, that I also post here
just opened up imageshack account, and uploaded the pics with instruction
notice: you need some DIY and soldering skill, incorrect connection can cause battery explosion and personal/property damage!
if your Spider has pretty short battery time, even charged for overnight, this may help you
I made a similar thread without pic, because the battery is already installed, and changed earpieces (speakers), do it again is a hassle, recently I purchased a used one from ebay for cheap price, it has same battery problem!
here you go
pic 1: use your screwdrivers to open 3 screws on left earpiece, and check the battery, if the battery look like the one in the pic, you need to replace it (don't forget to discard the battery in recycle box!

pic 2: prepare a plastic card (unused credit card or SIM card holder is OK), cut the plastic card to same size as the battery

pic 3: fit the plastic coin into the hole, you may want to trim a bit

pic 4: use Krazy glue or CA to stick the plastic coin

pic 5: put the new battery, you can get the battery for ipod nano
eBay: !! NEW REPLACEMENT BATTERY 400mAh FOR APPLE iPOD NANO (item 300127128055 end time Jul-06-07 12:06:12 PDT)

pic 6: use double sided tape to stick the battery in place
note: make sure the cables and battery won't get damaged when the cover is closed

pic 7: solder the cables, MUST match the color
red to red; black to green; leave white not soldered

then you should inspect all the cables and battery are in place, plug in, once the charge is finished (should be in about 1-2 hours), re-assemble everything back
currently I am testing the new battery, and it passed 4.5 hours

if your Spider has battery problem, you may want to bookmark this thread for reference

Thanks!

I got a Nano battery this morning in the mail and have already installed and charged it. I have at this point got more time (1.5 hours today already) than I ever got on my Bluespoon previously. I spent hours looking for a replacement battery, but never would have thought of a Nano Battery.

Thanks for being so clever.

other battery

Do you know of any other battery other than the ipods, that could work for the bluespoon? I have a razors battery.
