usb bluetooth: all the same basically?
Hello! I recently got a bluetooth / wireless keyboard for my home computer: I got the Dinovo Edge. (It is great). The keyboard connects to my PC by a bluetooth transmitter that came with the keyboard - the transmitter just plugs into a USB slot.

So, I thought I could begin connecting my Axim x51v to my PC, via this same bluetooth transmitter, but it didn't work.

Please help: can I connect BOTH the wireless keyboard AND my Axim to my PC with this one USB Bluetooth thing? Or do I need a different USB Bluetooth dongle to connect the Axim? -Row1

I think the answer is, It depends. You will only be able to connect your pocket pc to your computer through this Bluetooth transmitter, if the drivers that you probably installed to your computer (these would have been included in the CD that came with this product) supports this type of Bluetooth connection. If it does, you should be able to find a Bluetooth profile that would allow you to do it.

But, since the bluetooth transmitter was packaged with the keyboard, then I think the answer is NO. In all likelihood the transmitter is a slave to the keyboard and so it will only accommodate the limited keyboard connection.

Did you receive any software (CD) with the keyboard setup?

You should be able to do it, but it may not be in the BlueTooth stack that came with the BT dongle that came with your keyboard. You might want to test out the BlueSoleil drivers on your PC; they are very versatile. My Microsoft BT adapter works with A2DP headphones (and my Wiimote, too) with them running. You have to pay a separate software license, though. You need to really crawl through your BlueTooth connections settings in the Control Panel.

yes, cd with 'logitech setpoint'
hello-
yes the keyboard came with a cd, that is supposed to have 'logitech setpoint.'

i did not use the cd at all. i simply plugged the bluetooth dongle into a usb port, charged the keyboard up for a couple hours, and everything worked right off the bat with absolutely no problems. thus i myself installed no software - no 'stacks' or drivers.

i don't know what a 'stack' is. how is it different from a driver?

i can try the bluesoleil software - for about $10, this would be a decent solution - if i had a good idea that it would work.

is there a chance that the specific dongle i have would not work with the axim? or will compatibility be a matter of software?

When I upgraded to Vista, none of my Bluetooth drivers would work. A friend of mine recommended BlueSoliel and that was the only thing that would reconnect my Bluetooth. It is fantastic and very easy.

They have a free trial that you can download to try it out before you buy.

bluesoleil didn't find the keyboard dongle
bluesoleil didn't even find the dongle i have plugged into the computer for the bluetooth keyboard.

i am going to guess that the dongle won't work with the axim; i am gonna buy a bluetooth dongle and try that.

hopefully i can find one that will communicate with both the bluetooth keyboard and the axim.
