Adding Com ports under Bluetooth?

Apologies if this is answered somewhere else--I've been searching for three days, and have yet to find an answer (or perhaps I don't know how to ask the question).

Here's the setup:

Dell Axim X51V, A12, WM5
Garmin GPS10 (the old model)
BTS GPS (SIRF III)

Garmin Mobile XT
Beeline GPS

I've noticed that my BTS GPS gives MUCH better results than my old GPS10 (fast location, better resolution, etc etc). So, I tried to use it with Garmin Mobile XT --- no joy, Mobile XT only works with Garmin Hardware (unless I'm mistaken).

No problem, I'll use the GPS10 and Mobile XT for driving...but will use BeeLine and the BTS for geocaching, hiking, biking, etc.

Here's the problem. With the GPS10 listed in the Bluetooth settings, it uses COM7, with COM8 as the incoming port. When I tried to pair the BTS, however, I have no com ports available! I can only choose between COM7 or
COM8--both are in use by GPS10, it seems.

I can delete the GPS10, then tell the BTS to use COM7/COM8, and it works like a charm. However, I have to undo the process whenever I want to use Mobile XT.

So, the question: Why am I limited to COM7/COM8 for Bluetooth? It seems to me that I should be able to assign the BTS to COM5/COM6, and the GPS10 to COM7/COM8....or whatever I want.

How do I do this? Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance for any advice, and apologies if this is a newbie question.

This might be of help... GPS Tracking : Pocket PC

I only use a tiny piece of what it can go to prevent my WM2003se X30H from losing track of my BT GPS.. but it does do that quite well!
