Bluetooth OBDII

I bought of ebay a Bluetooth OBDII and I downloaded the AE software.

I think I have a com port mismatch but can't quite get it to run. I have the unit recorgnize by my X51 as a Bluetooth Serial Port, i can connect to it but thats pretty much it.

It looks like I only have an outgoing connection with the BT OBDII.

I have the Widcom stack, and in BT settings-> serial port->advanced my ports are set to IN 7 OUT 8.

Can you tell me what I doing wrong

Box, OBD II (aka On-board diagnostic port, type II) is a diagnostic port found on the bottom of the dash of 1995+ cars. It's mainly used to monitor trouble codes (you know, the ones that cause your check engine light to come on), but with some pocket PC software, it can be used for monitoring a car's vitals.

OBDKey is better for OBD Bluetooth applications

I didn't get one of the ebay / chinese units as I have only heard about poor quality from those units.

Instead I got one of the OBDKey Bluetooth OBD units.
OBDKey :: Wired and Wireless Automotive (OBD) Scan Tool

It is very impressive, covering my Ford Focus, VW Golf and Volvo cars. :approve:

The Bluetooth works flawlessly with good range to my Mio P550 and TMobile MDA. Software is included for WM6/WM5/PPC/Smartphone/Palm and Windows PC. Nice package!

OBDKey - very good OBD Bluetooth unit

I agree with above. I got the OBDKey unit too. Worked first time on my car. :approve:
There is also a USB version and a wireless LAN version if Bluetooth isn't suitable for you. I have a WM6 device with WiFi and Bluetooth.
