Pocket CAD v 4
Designing piping, chemical storage tanks, water and wastewater treatment facilities, I use AutoCAD on the desktop, PocketCAD on my X50 High and X50v.

Two screen shots, both on the Ax X50.

Any users out there?

Nice Tankman! See plenty of that in the Process Engineering wing of the office (I'm a "dirt engineer"). Question for you on the Pocket CAD - have they re-written it yet to handle the later .dwg and .dxf formats? If memory serves, it was limited to 2002, and this dead-halted me since we work out of latest editions. Would like to have the flexibility in the field...

any of you guys know what (name and location of the file) font file pocket CAD uses? I'm getting the error "unable to find font file. Text will not display." on start up. I'll have to find it and might have to relocate it.

To the job, of course! FYI, I have also designed the chemical storage tanks in West Chicago, and numerous other chemical and/or water and wastewater treatment plants in Illinois.

Also the TANKful jobs at Peoria, Bloomington, and other airports in Illinois, de-icing systems. Easy "stuff."

I use the PocketCAD on an X50 High and my X50v. Both are WM 2003SE. Not a problem with either Ax or the OS. Works very well.

One of the engineering firms, of many, is in Chicago; Sargent & Lundy.

PocketCAD comes with a small sync program. The program changes *.dwg and *.dxf files to *.cad files and transfers to your PDA.
The PocketCAD sync program will, if you like, move drawings *.cad file format, to your workstation. When it does so, the extension changed to *.dwg or *.dxf format(s).

Works seamlessly. Great tool in the field! Pricey but worth it!

First screen shot, a tank, what else, for the City of Santa Monica, Los Angeles.
Second screen shot, another tank, what else, for Kraft® in Columbia, MO.

Looks like an industrial CAD program. I probably would have tried it but, first I saw the PocketCAD program. Bought it.

I'm going to guess seamless with AutoCAD, just like PocketCAD.

Did you download the trial?
FYI. The trial program from PocketCAD doesn't come with the
CAD Exchange (their sync program). Without Cad Exchange, I could only work on the PDA.
With the exchange, moves files *.dwg & *.dxf files to the PDA in *.cad file format. Nicely!

Here's a screen shot of my memory use. PocketCAD 4 is running as well as a couple of other programs. Works great and very fast.

Hi,
Having now some spare time. I´ve downloaded powercad classic trial since you said it looks more industrial. It´s pretty complete, just loaded a 10mb topographic drawing, seems pretty funcional although quite slow. It also handles 3d drawings!! but no Solids. A big issue though, it only installed in program memory, I have 95% of my programs installed in my CF card. If developers would fix this I think it would be one of the greatest ppcCAD programs.
