Trial Offer : Ebay Sales Allowed ( READ HERE 1st!!!!!)
We have been considering allowing our members the right to post links to "their own" ebay auctions. We are going to give this a trial run, in the past it did not go well.
To avoid having ebay'ers come here "just" to link their auction for the sole intentions of making money and targeting the perfect audience, we have some stipulations!
User must be a member for at least 30 days before posting an auction link.
User must have 50 posts or +3 iTrader rating.
Link MUST be posted here only. Not in sigs, not in the X51v Hardware forum, HERE!
Absolutely no commercial sales.
Thanks for the understanding. We reserve the right to delete any ads linking to ebay auctions that we do not feel is proper.

As much as i like the idea of giving it a try i still think it might stir more trouble then help the site, not only that but i still fail to see the need for any respected member to post an eBay link here, it sorta defeats the purpose of this section from the forums in my opinion, call me an eBay hater but i usually stay away from all things eBay or anything that is associated with it, i would much rather sell it to an Aximsite buddy.
prefer tech... I don't want to see someones blue jeans for sale on Aximsite.

That's what I thought, too. Just that I have a couple of class 1 BT PCMCIA cards, a 250MB Serial ZIP drive, a couple of Palm travel chargers, and on and on that I might eventually get around to listing on eBay before they can be legitimately sold as antiques.
Not opposed to single links, but lots of Q&A and the like could be detremental to the site overall.

Aximsite + eBay = Big Mistake !

But everyone has to be respectful when they buy or sell here.
well before i post the auction on ebay i need to get some advice on what my device is worth:
I decided to go ahead and sell my axim x51v and use my treo 650 exclusively. My axim was always protected by a Dpair leather case and crystal screen protector. I have a seagate 8gb microdrive inserted. What would it fetch on ebay or is it better to sell the axim and microdrive separately
But everyone has to be respectful when they buy or sell here.
Try thinking about that for more than half a second and you will realise that probably half the people on this board are here precisely because they bought their PDA on Ebay! I know I did and there is absolutely no reason why an Ebay person is less nice to sell to than an 'Axim buddy' as you put it.
I have now had 2 Palm PDAs, then got an Axim X5 and now have an Axim X51v. Fine if you are loaded but for me there is not a chance on this planet I would ever have been able to buy either the X5 or my beloved X51v if I had not been able to get a good deal from someone who no longer had a use for theirs and was willing to sell it to a good home at somewhat less than they paid for it.
Sorry but that reply smacks of making this site into a clique forum and if I thought that was the case, I would make this my last post here as I do not wish to be a part of a group of narrow minded people who just want to sit and boast about how clever they are at this stuff to the rest of us who don't!
Good on you for trying this idea out. I see no reason why people should post links to auctions selling unrelated items as that will turn it into just a corridor for Ebay sellers but I am always on the lookout for some PDA accessories so if I see a link to Ebay from here I would happily go and look and maybe bid.
Let's not start the 'Aximsite is wonderful, Ebay is rubbish' mentality. It's as stupid as the ten year old who insists his football team is the only good one in the world!
