I was about to unload my unopened micro (saw it on clearance for a steal).. this is intriguing tho. What exactly is it? Is it the 'R4' thing I've seen on the net?

Yes, and no.

It has a built in movie and music player which you have to convert to use. I've tried coverting movies before and some mpeg files from my PVR. But have not used the music converter yet. It works on both the GBA and DS (through slot 2). With the R4 it actually inserts into slot 1 where the normal DS slot is.

I have the Simply DS which is similar to the R4 for the DS.
