FS Damaged Zire72! Cheap! lol Q.Q
Well of course it's going to be cheap... ($20 OBO, $29 w/ 512mb SD OBO)
I don't expect anything to come of this thread, but I have for sale a Zire 72 with the following problems:
1) Battery is dead (from full charge) in about 10 minutes of standby, or a minute of use.
2) Screen makes high pitched squal (A COMMON problem for all Zire 72's I'm aware of)
3) Blue paint is chipping (Another common problem, which is why they aren't sold with blue paint anymore) off around the area where the stylus goes, and some if not all of the white logo paint (Like "Zire 72") is fading.
4) I believe there is one physical dent (maybe 2) ON the device, near the 5-way pad. It is small, probably measuring around 1-2mm.
I don't have the device in front of me now, which is why I'm unclear on a couple things.
What you get (Including above problems :P):
Zire 72
USB thing to connect to computer
AC Adapter
Palm IR Keyboard
All necessary CDs (That I have, and I'm 99% sure I have all of them) for the Zire and Keyboard
1-2 carrying cases (I have 2 for the unit, I can gaurentee I can find at least 1 to give you. 1 is the one shipped with the unit, the other was purchased)
To fix the unit:
The battery costs about $30, and you need some tools to open the device (And minor soldering skills to replace the battery) which I think run you about $10. Tutorials on how to do this can be found online.
Generic Specs pulled from Amazon:
*Bright, 320x320 transflective TFT color display supports more than 65,000 colors
*312 MHz Intel PXA270 processor, Palm OS v5.2.8, 32 MB RAM (24 MB actual storage)
*Integrated 1.2 MP digital camera that also shoots video
*Expansion slot that supports MMC, SD, and SDIO memory cards
*Palm Desktop Software for Windows and Mac and Software Essentials CD included
The unit is still capable of taking pictures, video, etc -- it seriously works perfectly fine except for the fact that the battery sucks (I'd still be using it if PALM actually fixed the battery issue any of the 5 times I sent it to Texas)
Asking price:
A new unit costs more than $100. You are looking at an estimated maximum of $50 to repair the unit. You will be responsible for shipping/pickup/delivery (I'm in NY--Long Island) so that cost is up to you.
The asking price for this lump of lifeless crap is $20 OBO. Keep in mind I paid about $375 for the device and keyboard. I can throw in a 512mb SD card for an extra $9.
Payment & Shipping:
I prefer personal check (Or cash if purchasing in person), device will ship within 2 days of check clearing (Providing holidays don't mess anything up). Shipping method is entirely up to you, and as stated so is the cost. Tell me how you want it shipped -- I'll get a quote. Hell if you want me to ship it in an envelope for $0.37 I'll do that but I can't gaurentee you'll get it :P
The price can not go lower, I can take pictures upon request and send them to private e-mails (Just e-mail me at ducexcrew at gmailcom).
In all seriousness, the device functions great -- I never had a SINGLE problem with it until the battery went poop, I trust that nobody else will have a problem either.
