FS or FT: axim (cracked digitizer)
X5 basic, upgraded to PPC 2003. Includes power adapter, sync cable, case, and TrueMobile wifi card. Screen is cracked and Dell has told me my only option is to buy a refurbished unit. It's in perfect condition aside from the cracked screen - only the digitizer is cracked, the LCD is still fine - taps just register incorrectly.

Screen can be repaired with a $55 part from gethightech.com, but I don't have the paitence or know how to do so.

$200, BO, or an equivalent trade for a working unit (axim or other)

I'll give you $50 for it and you can keep the WiFi card.

I can get working, for less, on ebay. And all I want it for is parts.

Why not? That's what it's worth, and you did say OBO.

Why would anyone pay $200 when you can get the same (with more) for cheaper than what you're asking, and then have to go spend even more money on parts + the time to repair it?

Depreciation on electronics is almost faster than the speed of light, and you're offering defective merchandise.........in essence, when the digitizer broke, all equity in the device went out the window.

Insulting to you, or not.......my offer still stands, unless you get a better offer.

200 for a busted x5 basic? I paid $150 for mine new from dell. $50 is just about right. You are far better off taking the $50 for the unit and selling the rest individually.

Sorry to say this, but I'll have to go with Klaatu on this...

Broken digitizers are currently the most common and the most expensive and difficuilt to replace way for a Pocket PC to die.

Generally, if you have balls and basic skills with a screwdriver, you can replace your digitizer for around $65 using This Guide .

Have to warn you, though: you screw up - it dies. it's worthless... and judging from the amount of confidence you show, sadly, you're more than likely to screw up.

So either take up on Klaatu's offer and get $50 for it, or take your chances on the repair. It's up to you.

If you fail, it probably won't be worth the 50 anymore. You would be out the price of the parts and the resale value it currently has...

To quote the Big Man...(Meatloaf)...."You took the words right outta my mouth."
You are correct........$50 offer stands, as-is, for one week.

i might be interested in the axim if you sell for 50

i don't need the digitizer, as its going to be used in a robotics project and i can navigate without it. All i need to do is execute a program, and let it run.
