**BOUGHT** WTB: WM2003 Upgrade

First off I know it's not legal to resell after installing. If someone has this and for one reason or another hasn't installed it and/or wants to go back to PPC2002, PM me an offer. Thanks.

Why not just buy your own copy?

Why not take my and MrKlaatu's advice and stay away from MW2003. Unless you have a compelling reason to upgrade (some hardware or software that wont run in PPC2002) It probably isn't worth the cost to moce to WM2003.

To quote MrKlaatu (badly):

I've seen too many posts that start with:

"Everything was going fine until I decided to upgrade from PPC2002 to WM2003"

Funny...I've had just the opposite experience...better performance ... enhanced apps ... most of the complaints early on were related to the lack of WM2003 drivers for GPS and WIFI, with many now offered...but the early complaints have been generalized to "WM2003 has problems"

I've had WM2003 upgraded for 5 months with zero problems

Thanks for the link KPDUTY. I would buy from Dell directly but I'd rather save a few bucks on it. I'm willing to take the plunge and shed PPC2002

The software is licensed for one installed machine. It is illegal to resell it while it is installed on another machine.

Re: WTB: WM2003 Upgrade

Paul:

Are you saying that it is illegal to install it, go back to PPC2002, and resell it? I have already specified that it is not installed, except in the case I just mentioned. Thanks.

It appears that you need to seel the software with the machine (read the license fully and the wording is there). There is another thread running on this subject (rather than the classifieds) where you can find some in depth discussion. Looks pretty much like you can't sell it.

Legally you are supposed to honk your horn before you pass somebody or before you back up your car. I wonder if anybody here actually does that...

And by the way, the license agreement isn't accepted until you open the package, correct? So if it the upgrade CD is still sealed, I guess the owner has never agreed to the terms of it. Legally.
