I must say that there were signs that made him look badly, but the guilty until proven innocent routine we gave him was not inline with the way the site should be. Let's handle it different next time....
Yea, he should have been banned when we found out about the 3 usernames. He didn't have 3 Axims to sell. If we had banned him then, Joshua would have rejected the COD.

Maybe :-). I wanted that X30 bad and I was back and forth about what to do. In the end the power of the X30 won.
man im glad youuu can laugh after losin that much money...
Well.. josh did get an X3, correct? (At least he got an X3 and not absolutely nothing)
If you try to run this by the police, they will pass it over as an error.. not even sure if they'd be willing to help the customer get their money back and the owner get their item back... for josh's trouble, I think he should be able to keep both the money and the axim.

Good point, maced...
Unless there was a note in the packaging saying 'Sucker, I got you!' or something along those lines, all Steeda, or whoever it REALLY is, has to claim an innocent mistake. Anyone else here ever been misshipped?
Apology to Josh---you are NOT a sucker, just illustrating what would help convict that little brackem frackem fargh brackem varmint
(spoken like Yosemite Sam)

Remember just one thing....
I have no idea what I am talking about.
Ever.
There were alot of things about his post that didn't make any sense to me...
But Chris, you're right - I should have been a little bit "nicer", but I guess it was just my nature to question things that don't make any sense to me, and his answers made his story worse.
Sorry Joshua --

so n e 1 in arizona wanna pay this guy a "visit" then? This scam shit just pisses me off..
I live near him, but I wouldn't waste my time on such a loser who has to pretend he is 3 other people to sell one PDA. Our Sheriff Joe will take care of him. They don't call him the "Toughest Sheriff in America" for nothing.
When I used to buy/sell/trade back in 1998 on http://forums.anandtech.com a guy named Roger got scammed, and he took it upon himself to personally hunt down every troll that scammed anyone in that forum.
The website was created and is there for anyone who needs help tracking down a scammer and getting your money back. I strongly urge Joshua to visit the site, contact someone there, and get some help. They know the laws that can help you bring this jerk down.
If you don't stop this guy he's just going to continue scamming. He may even come back here with a new IP and username and scam someone else in our own community.
Again I state I'm sorry I was right about this guy :( It's really a shame that people like this exist. Lets just make sure he doesn't come back
I hope all learned from this.. BUYER BEWARE!! That is what makes Paypal so valuable. I have lost money to people and having used paypal I am covered.
Suggestion: For Josh, how about an online Jerry Lewis type telethon to get him an X30? He can donate the X3 somewhere and for a couple of bucks each we can get him an X30? Any thoughts?
John

comeon, there were warning lights all over the place, he knew the risk... but guess what? there were an opportunity to profit *save a few bucks* and he took it.
Many of us pay a premium for reliable delivery of service... and some like to save a few bucks and inhenrit some risk...
so while I do feel bad about him getting ripped off, the fact is, he didn't engage in this deal to prove to all of us what an honest guy that other dude is... he engaged in the deal because it was a good deal, dispite all the red flags the forums could possibly raise, and he lost out...
I rather donate my money to poor starving kids than to some guy who got ripped off on an non essential item because he wanted to save a few bucks.
sniff.

This is true, I feel for him too. I believe that it would be hard to not open the box to see. THe opportunity to get something for a good deal does make for risk. That is the Vegas principle. If Joshua is doing ok financially, he has no worries. I am behind him and this will get resolved. I am trying to have this resolved without law enforcement 1st, then we will visit more permanent options.
