I must say that there were signs that made him look badly, but the guilty until proven innocent routine we gave him was not inline with the way the site should be. Let's handle it different next time....

Agreed, I think there is a way to be polite but not to give automatic credibility.
IMO every seller should provide references if he doesn't have at least 50 posts.
I would have rejected the COD.
