Wow, this would be great!
I use my x50v a lot... I would use this card for access to a hard drive (possibly my ipod in HDD mode) and occasional printing.

Not to rain on everyone's parade but I think that SolarExpress really missed the boat with this. They have been working on this for like 3 or 4 years now. Three years ago, 4GB CF cards were thousands of dollars and these would have sold like hotcakes....now with the price of CF memory, i think they will have a very hard time getting many buyers for this...

CF USB card $85

16GB CF card $60 bucks at newegg

32GB CF Card $150 bucks at newegg

Ok so storage isnt everything but it seems to be the only real "useful" use of something like this...

but neither of the CF cards require you to carry a portable hard drive with you to play in your PORTABLE Axim device...

I don't know...maybe I'm spiteful since I've been wanting this so long....sorry again for ranting and "raining" Good luck to everyone

X10 at this day one USB host CF card isn't very useful for storage except if you need too much big files who exceed a CF card. However this card has a lot of connectivity, storage devices, card readers, mouses, keyboards, printers or even gamepads with the appropiate driver.

With the expansion jacket i made i can connect one keyboard, a big HD, a mouse (or a touch screen) and watch everything in a VGA monitor as if i could have a little desktop computer, but all very portable and in a little space.

It couldn't be possible without a CF USB host card (which i don't own yet, mine is dead, rest in peace).

Drivers being the key word....not too many companies are going to release printer drivers for a old operating system, a mobile one at that (WM5 and WM2003)...so unless you are keen on writing drivers for windows mobile, more than likely this will primarily be used for storage devices and/or a mouse and keyboard even though you could simply use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for about the same price...

The possibilities are endless! Thumb drive's, portable HDD's, gaming controllers, pointing devices, keyboards, scanners, printers. I own and could use any or all of these things with the Axim.

You name it!

Drivers are a bit of a different ball game, but hey, you gotta play!

Actually the possibilities are quite limited being as whatever you plug in draws its power from your Axim, and the SolarExpress only passes through 5v @ 100mA (supported), far too little for larger peripherals like scanners, printers, external HDD's etc...
I've only managed to use smaller things like thumb drives and a small card reader.

I don't think SolarExpress was really designed to provide power to the other connections. I like the fact you can go to a remote location where they may have printers/scanners/& other peripherals set up and be able to use them through your PDA.

Will the 32 gig CF card work with an Axim 51?
