Belkin Dock F8E476-KIT-DL for DJ

Anyone have one of these? I just bought a refurb DJ from Computer Geeks and would like to have a dock with line out to use when I plug the DJ into my stereo on my desk at work. Connecting to the stereo via the DJ's headphone jack means I have to push my volume up to dangerous levels should I forget and switch to my radio or music CDs. This dock looks promising but I am not sure that it actually has a true line out or if it just routes the headphone jack to the RCA ports. Unless that rerouting includes amplification that wouldn't be any better for me.

I'd love to get a real Dell dock but Dell doesn't sell them any more and the prices I've seen on eBay this week are almost more than the DJ cost me.

That dock just routes the headphone jack to the RCA ports like you said.

The volume needs to be around 20 in order to get a decent output.

Thanks - I found a bigger picture of it (see link below). It appears to be designed for the 5GB Pocket DJ since it has a mini-USB connector at the top of the player as opposed to the Dell Axiom/DJ connector on the bottom.

I did a search here and saw some posts about building a custom cable to get line out added to the USB sync cable but since I hit 50 my eyesight's not good enough for that kind of soldering anymore. Does anyone make those cables and wants to sell one?

i've been lookin into it and i think i can make one for around 20 or so with line out, and usb for about 20-25 bucks or so. functionally, it would act like this guy, but not have a dc-in port, and would charge through usb. it looks sorta like the this.

i've been wanting to do one for a while now, but have had no reason as i have a dock.

let me know if you are interested.

Your design looks interesting.

My DJ didn't come with the standard sync cable. The power cable plugs into a connector that plugs into the bottom and there is no usb connector that way. The usb sync cable is separate and is marked Dell Axim X3i or DJ on a label. I've seen them in auctions on eBay for about $5 including shipping and wonder if that cable would make a good starting point for making this adaptor.
