i downloaded dbpoweramp but when i put in the cd and open dMC, it just says "insert audio CD" Is there anything im doing wrong?

nevermind...i think i got around it.

i just have to click "copy cd(or something) using dmc" when the window pops up. Why can't I just put in the cd and dbl click the dmc icon?

with the power pack, can you get it for your 30 days and then re-up it? or do you only get one 30 day period before you have to pay

I've discovered that if you encode WMA at 128 kbps it is just as good as MP3 at 128 kbps

Audiograbber

Redchair Software, which makes Dudebox Explorer recommends Audiograbber which is freeware and available for download at http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/.

Anybody know of any good, fast software to covert/copy CDs to the Dell DJ?

Does anyone know if this method of ripping introduces clipping to the file?

I have a bunch of CDs ripped using WMP10 to MP3 format and after running MP3Gain on them I saw that about 90% of them had clipping

The dbPowerAMP Portable Audio software seems to have drivers for all MP3 players except the Dell DJ.

Nice tutorial anshu, but dbPowerAMP 11 requires a lincense fee after the trial period to use mp3 encoding. You can still get dbPowerAMP 10.1 and use it with all their codecs for free.

Even though dbpowerAMP is a great program, you should included instructions on the free rippers such as CDex and EAC. After all, after spending big bucks on your music player you don't want spend more money just to use it if you don't have to. ;)

Once you have ripped your tunes and added them to the ones on your computer, the volume levels can be all over the place. How about including a tutorial on MP3Gain to level the volumes, and note that some "clipping" will not hurt.

I agree that there are programs such as MusicMatch and WMP that do it all OK, but you can't beat these small programs written to do one task, and they do that one task very good.
