| Dell Tablet PC I decided, after a second anonymous tip about Dell in the process of working on a Tablet PC, I would make a forum for it. |

Probably the fairest priced unit in history, I am really impressed with their 2nd model (the one shown in the link) really keeping true to the origami promise.
I might consider it although I do want Vista on UMPCs whereas Xp-Tablet is somewhat limited.

What actually is the price, when I tried to click on the purchase link, it doesn't go anywhere, ditto for a bunch of the other navigation links.
Personally I'd love one of the Everun's. I could dual boot Xp and Linux on it and maybe even triple boot with Mac OSX, now that'd be cool. Wouldn't need my laptop anymore!
I dreamed about getting one of the OQO models, but the battery life on them sucks

Woah, SIGN ME UP! $700, that's an amazing price point, though I am guessing that will only come with 8gb storage and the price will go up accordingly for a full featured unit.
What's the expected release date?
If they can make it in sufficient quantities and make it available through the distribution channel and make it ruggedized or get the Otterbox folks to build a case for it, I could easily sell a hundred of these things. Plus 3 for my own use
1 for my Spouse
1 for regular use
1 for testing purposes.
I typically have 2 of all my pda's (2x Zaurus SL-5500's and 2x Ipaq 3600's, got rid of my 2x Palm IIIxe's last year), just looking to get a second X51v so I can test software out on it without blowing up my main device which is sadly more common than I'd like.

Hmm, they mention 6-12 hours run time with normal use, I wonder what they classify as normal use.....
Considering the specs, they'd have to do some awefully tough power management to accomplish those run times.
Even with a 2200ma high cap battery on my Axim, I can drain that in about a couple hours by:
1) wifi running (wpa2)
2) running winvibepro playing mp3's off my home media center machine (mythtv)
3) playing bejewelled 2 with audio turned down.
This saturday when I got to sleep in and woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep, I did the above from about 8am to 10am'ish and battery level was down to 17%.
The Everrun would have to be significantly more frugal powerwise than the X51V and most fast pda's for that matter.

I haven't really touched my x51v in awhile(Mainly because I haven't went anywhere in like 3 months) But when I was out-and-about, I had it hooked up into my car, making the windows rattle.
My question is this: Why can't there be a 3-3.5 inch VGA display, an 8 gig HDD(with SD card slot, of course) and a phone with 3g, wifi and bluetooth? I understand that more features means less batterey life, but there is an answer to that too. A 2000 or 3000 mAh capacity battery! Surely those features wont go over 600, and while it might make the phone a half an inch thicker than the axim, is that such a high price?
Honestly, I despise all these new "ZOMg ItS SOoOOO THIN!!!1" phones/cars/computers. I want power! I have a Camaro instead of a mini for a reason! Nothing like hitting a pebble and flying through the air to make you want a bit more meat on your car.
The HTC touch looked nice to me(Feature wise, it looked hideous, all boubly at the bottom like a remote) but a 200 mhz processor? You could even see in the videos were it lagged pulling up the touch menu/flipping it around. Screw that, I want AT LEAST a 400mhz processor.
If someone sold a computer with a 1ghz pentium 3(?), 128 megs of ram, with windows 98, and a 15" CRD monitor for 800 bucks, do you think anyone would buy? Why do these people think the phones are going to sell like that? (I know they are, but hypothetically =P )

Not really, this is what it would be IMHO as many of use will be running Wi-Fi, not power cutting, videos, Skype etc.
Regular battery
6 hours= 4.5 hours
Extended Battery
12 hours = 10 hours
Though it might be accurate if they we're taliking about the SSD equipped models, still I say 4hrs regular & 10hrs with the extended.
Still alot given no UMPC to date, gives that much time, my 3300mAh equipped X51v runs for 5-6 hours on non-stop Wifi/BT & 8-10 if I never use wireless (BTW my porcessor is always on auto)

Well the HTC Advantage is almost there but it is as large as its rediculous price tag.

Yeah, the price is stupid-high. There is no way in hell I'd pay that much for it... Take the x51v, add a phone, larger battery a HDD or large internal storage... I bought mine for 350! Why are all these new phones stupidely expensive for such lousy features? :(
I don't think I'll ever find a good enough device to replace my current Axim/Phone(I hate my phone so much, I want a new PPC phone ASAP, but they all suck) I was looking forward to the iPhone, but its nothing more than a toy thanks to the lack of third party development.

Oooo...
This looks hot to me, the HTC Kaiser:
Paul Reviews.... the HTC P4550 (Kaiser) - MoDaCo
Thats the review linked on this or mobilitysite's news section. No large internal storage, but the rest is kickin'. 400 mhz processor is way better than the 200 in the Touch =(
I am looking forward to this device.

^ Yeah, I wish Sprint had that instead of the Mogul.
Hmm I'm hoping that the (sexiest phone ever) i-Mate ultimate 7150 or 8150 will be between $550-$700 and the 8GB micro SD will work in it. again I say "hope".
It'd be even cooler in black IMO.
Though if I do get the Everun S6, I'll settle for the 9150..

Whoa, the I-mate 7150 is super-freakin' hot. I never seen those before... and a 3.8" VGA screen?! Jeebus.
512 mhz processor... 256 rom, 128 ram...
And using the keyboard you can set it up to tilt. Consider me sold!
The 9150 looks extremely, nice aswell, (and might be a bit more affordable(I hope)) but on gsmarena it says it was canceled... :o
