Psionandy, thanks, that's what I was looking for. I like a variety of fiction and non-fiction. I did however get a little burnt out with fantasy and sci-fi a few years ago.

You will likely find something of interest here:

http://www.gutenberg.org/

HTML format works quite nicely on my Ax using MultiIE. Full screen, hardware buttons for scrolling page-up, page down....

(Yes I know you are looking for specific recommendations... take a look at the Top 100 Books and Authors: http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/scores/top )

I read 'The Poisonwood Bible' by Barbara Kingsolver a while ago and would definitely recommend it. Also just finished 'The Historian' by Elizabeth Kostova and that was also quite good.

"Kafka On The Shore" by Haruki Murakami is available on Fictionwise, and is an incredible read... It's shortlisted for most of the awards this year.
