Thank you!!! This is going to come in so handy, I have to fly into a lot of what we as Americans would think of back-water countries. So now in a 5 min read I can get some basic info that can help me stay out of trouble, plus a few handy phone #'s if I do.
Now if my X51v and X50v would only work like a "star trek" universal translator in real time, life would be perfect.
PS, if you do go to the Holy See, and I reccomend it, climb up to the dome of St. Peters. Now you can realy be the highest person of a whole country. But I do reccomend paying the extra 5 Euro to ride the "lift" up over a good half of the way!
I am a simple man: how do you get this to work? Do I first download the file to my desktop, unzip, then copy the files to my PPC? I would really like to get this to work on my PPC. Thanks
Yes. Simply download the zip file, unzip it, transfer it to the device, then open your file explorer, find the directory you copied it to, and open index.html. Bookmark it for easy reference.
I am sorry but must be real dense...I copied the unzipped files into a folder on my SD card...hit Index in my browser and that works and shows me country listings but when I select a country it tells me "the page you are looking for cannot be found"
Any help would be appreciated

Did you maintain the file structure when you unzipped?
The index file should be in the factbook directory along with subdirectories: flags, maps and print. countrylisting.html is also in the factbook directoy.
I have a copy of this excellent program if anyone needs it. Actually, I'll just upload the original zip file here. Nevermind, the file is too big to upload. PM me and I'll send it to you.
This is sooo handy! I've had it installed for almost 3 months now and I've used it only 4 or 5 times, but usually when someone asks a rather off-the-wall question.
Today over lunch with coworkers, someone asked if Greenland was all land or if it was floating ice. (Don't laugh, they were serious!) Anyway, the answer was right at hand! Thanks again, mcduck!

As in the PM, I'd be happy to host that "huge" file for you.
Do let us know if that happens. I saw this thread after mcduck's links went dead. My wife teaches world geography and I'm always looking for reasons to convince her of the worth of my ax. Besides, my associate is a trivia nut. I'd love to be able to trump him once in while!
