William Shakespeare

My daughter is an English Lit and Creative writing major at Converse College and as such she frequently has to dig for references and information. One of her favorite authors, poets writers of all time (so far) is the Great Bard, As you all know his works are prolific and the books can be huge so I took the time to download all his works (all gathered from Public Domain sources) and converted them into .Lit, MS Word and of course plain text. You can have access to this file here:

http://ww2.sharebigfile.com/index.ph...sknOZQxnxX8aDO

Since I did the work, gathered from public domain and converted I see no conflict with sharing and posting. There are still a few works that are being contested as to the validity of the Public domain with WS but no court claims appear to be valid.
You can thank me or rant at me as you desire.

Ahhh becasue money is involved, and lawyers have a special gland (located just below the anus) that allows them to sniff out money and litigate untill they get some of it. From what I gather it has to do more with the fact that some publishers claim that their reissuing of works in new formats or in new books that have art associated with it gives them some limited protection. Its kind of like adding a few comments by local experts to a work and then copyrighting the total as a new issue...its all bogus but it keeps the lawyers happy. This is all my view as I tried to gather some data on the subject prior to making my post....and I am sure before long someone will come along and tell me how wrong I am..............but I am use to it. I have been married 30 years today.

No. I did not take the time to do that. It was a rush job. Maybe later I will go back and do it. I had thought about combining them into one large .lit file and then using one generic cover that I found but again its a time issue.

You got lucky. I had a copy on my Thumbdrive. I think this is the file in Lit. Let me know if its not and I will find the right one.

Thanks for that.
Found this in the free e-books thread. University of Virginia also has some Shakespeare collections.
