So what is/are the advantages to upgrading. There isn't any mention of enhancements on the web page.

Personally, I would like to have a scrolling function.

Scmidlap:

Unless you are running WM 5.0 there really isn't a reason to upgrade to 2.4.1.

With the exception of some installer changes there is no functional change between the two releases.

In regard to the scrolling feature request, we have added this to our database of features to consider for possible future releases. Thank you for your feedback.

Sincerely,

Thanks for clarifying what's contained in the update. I'm not running WM5.0, so can stick with the MSReader version I currently have.

Hi there,

I downloaded MS Reader and I thought I activated it but when I go to the "About MS Reader" page it says that it was activated yet.

I checked my programs and I do see "Microsoft Activation" is installed.

What am I doing wrong?

LadyDiana89:

Please check to assure that your activation files are located in the default/device location and not on your storage card. Installing your activation components to your storage card will result in the Microsoft Reader being unable to view them. If you have installed the activation to your SD card please uninstall them fully before you attempt to reactivate. Failing to do so can result in further errors on the system. Please do not cut and paste the activation files to the \windows location from the SD card to remedy as this may result in unpredicatble behavior. It is best to cleanly uninstall the activation component and reinstall to the preferred location.

To fully uninstall the activation components please do the following:
  1. Cradle the device
  2. On your PC open activesync and go to Tools | Add/remove programs
  3. Select Microsoft Activation
  4. Click the "Remove" button in the "Remove from both locations" section in the dialog
  5. Delete your annotations and any hidden litpath.lpt files from your device
  6. Reactivate once again from http://das.microsoft.com/activate/en-us/default.asp
Please let me know if this does not resolve your issue.

Sincerely,
Christine - Microsoft Reader Team

I have the same problem. I can't find MSReader 2.4.1 to download.
When I use ver 2.4, I'm unable to use any of the features. Seems that the software is incompatible with WM 5.

Also, does anyone know if there's any alternative to MS Reader which can open the ebooks with the same format?

I activated my MS Reader 2.4.1 for WM 5.0 but after activation it says I may have problems because the software i just installed was meant for a previous version for WM. Is there an updated activation link I can go to?

40thGT1119:

Disregard this message. This is an installer thing. Your activation should be ok. You probably saw a similar message when you installed the Reader.

Is there an update to MS Reader planned, in order to make better use of VGA screens? Only on my X51v the font is very large, even on the smallest setting. I like MS Reader but hate the large font....

I'd like to add my voice to Mokubai's request, since upgrading from WM2003 to WM5 i've stopped using MSReader as the font is huge and all i'm doing is flipping pages every couple of sentences!
