Help! Duplicate Reader Help in library
Somehow, I now have two copies (or at least two titles) in my library labeled "Microsoft Reader Help". I've tried uninstall/reinstall but they both came back. Anyone have any clue as to how to delete one of these?
Thanks

Phaang:

How many copies of MS Reader do you have installed? This book comes with Reader and is integrated with the OS. Are they in two separate locations or are they in the same directory. Is one of them older than the other?

Sorry about all the questions but it is the only way I can best determine how to assist you.

Sincerely,
Christine - Microsoft Reader Team

That may be it...
I have MsReader (2.4) under the Windows folder, and a separate folder under Program Files with a Microsoft Reader subfolder and MsReader (v 2.4.1). So, how do I safely delete the older version and its associated files? Remove Program only has one listing labeled "Microsoft Reader".
Thanks

Hedging your bets by keeping the old one "just in case" eh? or was the previous one part of your ROM? If so you probably won't be able to get rid of that one. The good news is that the guidebook is the same in both versions. The 2.4.1 version guidebook should be deletable but I caution you that if you delete this your help may be disabled or misbehave unless you have a copy of the guidebook.lit file in the directory. You might be able to do a test run and copy the file out of that directory and try running help to see if it will use the old one. If not you can just copy the file back with no harm done.

If your old version is NOT in ROM please email me offline at msreadergirl@comcast.net and I will send you instructions on how to manually remove that version.

Sincerely,
Christine - Microsoft Reader Team
