Trying to install ereader

Hi,

I cannot install ereader. I've tried with the free version and have also purchased the PRO version but it still doesn't work. Instructions seem to suggest that after unzipping file, I should run ereader.msi. I have tried this but message reads. "it does not look as if your system is configured to properly view this file..." It then tries to read it in notepad.

There are so many different files in the zip version, I've tried running them all but no joy.

I have succesfully managed to install the books but not the reader.

Where am I going wrong,

Many thanks for any help, Orlaigh.

Did you download the reader from here?

Thanks for reply ADAJohnDoe.

No, your link is to MSReader, which I already have. The reader I was trying to install was Ereader, available from www.ereader.com. There is a free version which didn't work, and also a PRO version which I've bought. But still cannot install.

It's been a while since I've installed mine, but if you have the zip file unzipped, look for the folder that says it's for the devices with WM2003 and later. Open it and you should have a choice between Cab files and a windows installer. If you choose the windows installer it should walk you through the install automatically. (Make sure you are docked and syncronized before you start the install.) If you choose the cab file, then you have to drag it over to the sync window and place it there. (I usually put it into the Temp folder if I want to install to main memory) then on your device you have to go to that folder and tap the cab file to get it to install.
This is not the most detailed description, but you should be able to figure it out I hope.
You'll love E-Reader once you get it working, I do.:approve:

Thanks, Folks. I finally got it.

When I unzipped the file, I then had to 'checkout' the .msi file under Actions. Not very user friendly, but great it is now working.

Thanks for your all your help.

Orlaigh.
