Mobipocket help

I installed the reader to my CF card and it works fine; the problem I am having is pointing it at a specific folder on the CF card where I want to keep the books. I want this to be my default folder for the software but I have searched the site, their forums etc and cannot find any help with this.

I tried moving the "ebooks" folder the software creates from main memory to my CF card but when search with Resco to check this has happened it doesn't show up.

I made a trial book using their creator software and if I click on that it opens in the reader but if I open the reader I cannot locate the book - the best it seems to offer is the CF card as an option; with no further way to navigate and designate a default folder.

Am I missing a trick somewhere or is this just the way it is?

I like the reader and the fact that I get alot more text per page than with the MS Reader.

If I can't do this is there another reader anyone can recommend - it needs to be WM5 compatible that offers the same or similar functions.

Thanks

I used SD card and have a folder named "Ebooks" ... make sure you put books in there ( 1 level deep ) ... donot creates a 2nd level folder...

as far as the naming of folder goes .. it really isn't important as making sure you don't place your books further then 1st level folder.

the name as suggested above ensured instant listing when 1st opened the program ... but as long as your book followed 1st level only ... you can click "BROWSE" from the program's ebook menu ( it have to be viewed LIBRARY when start up ) and navigates to desired folder ( drop down box ) to choose books ( remember !! 1st level only )

\SD Card\Ebooks --->> YES !

\SD Card\Alastair\Ebooks --->> NO !

Thanks Kazkin - I had the folders set up at a single layer what I didn't realise is that Mobi looks for a folder called "ebooks" and my folder for MS Reader is called "ebooks" ( so I was confusing it)- so I have ammended the name and for MS and created "ebooks" for Mobi and its looking good - I'll carry on playing

Just out of curiosity is .prc the best format for Mobi? I tried that and HTML when using the creator software and couldn't really see any difference in use.

Thanks again

yes .. the above works & showed up during library mode :approve:

but if click mobipocket menu to "browse" ... files only show up if place within 1st level ;) :approve: since the drop down box selection only have the option to select 1st level folders.
