any .pdf readers that are better than adobe?

I am going through the arduous process of archiving my 5,000 book library and am saving them to .pdf format. I have an x51v and adobe reader doesn't work well to say the least in wm5. It crashes and I need to soft reset almost every time I'm done using it. I tried pocketxpdf, and it only seems to read a portion of the books. If there is on out there that can do it's job I'd happily give the developers my money.

for fiction... PDF is really the wrong format to choose. PDB and Lit are far lighter, and thus quicker.

Have to agree w/ the other poster; PDF just isn't that great on the PocketPC. I ended up grabbing Mobipocket and converted all of my ebooks to it's format. It also has the ability to convert PDF to Mobi format and displays them very nicely. I've converted a lot of my tech ebooks to Mobi (smaller format too) and haven't looked back.

If you still prefer PDF, try Pocketxpdf:

I really prefer .pdb format and use iSilo reader; as a physician I've to read a lot, so I've found that iSilo reader for PPC and iSilo reader for Windows XP runs flawlessly.

However I've tried to convert a lot of .pdf to .html (Acrobat Professional) format and then to .pdb (iSiloX for Windows) and results aren't that great, specially those large .pdf files.

As mad0865 says, I've tried Mobipocket too, but it seems to slow.

Any other idea?

Best Regards,

Does the Mobi conversion happen on the PDA or does that take place on the host PC?

I use to read some text books on pdf format on the pocketpc... it was a pain in the neck. Now I've switched to only reading text books in chm format and it's much better. PDF is good when they make 600dpi portable screens.

so it still seems like .pdf is the bulletproof multi application standard. For the PC, it is the most solid file type. Is the problem that adobe hasn't come out with a new version of ppc reader?

To read PDF

Clear Vue PDF Pro reader is the only reader that works well with WM 5.0.
They just came out with new upgrade works much quicker.
Adobe is NOT approved to work with WM 5.0

I will try RepliGo and ClearVue PDF, I'll give you my personal opinions on this issue.
By the way, I was trying Mobipocket Creator and I was unable to convert a PDF into a nice-readable, above all the tables and pictures aren't displayed righteously. I would be nice to read pdf in my Dell.

Any ideas?

Happens on the desktop. The software on the device is reader only.
