I don't want to switch things around but mobipocket has a good reader with quite a few good books.

natasha5465 I just saw your plight today and you may have already solved it and I hope you have. When I sold my X5 to a guy he had the same issues and we could not solve it by doing the things you have already done. If you have made a good back up of all your data you might want to do a hard reset of the X5. Thats what we resorted to and it workd for him. By doing the hard reset you take the X5 back to its virgin state and by reinstalling the MS lit reader and reactivating your doing it as if for the first time and that may solve the problem.
Unliek many I do like the MS reader and after trying all of the otehr available types of readers I keep coming back to the MS Reader for its simplicity and ease on MY eyes. Others have thier own thoughts on which reader is best.
Rember that preforming a hard reset wipes the X5 back to the basic OS so make sure your data is backed up if you take this action.
Good luck.

I've had this happen a few times when a book has been stored on a storage card - either SD or CF - rather than in RAM. When I moved it into RAM the problem went away. It doesn't always happen, though, even if the book is on a card.

I liked the way Microsoft Reader worked -- however, I did tire of fudging around with the issues mentioned above. I use the free software from ereader.com, and have found this site to be the best for downloading books.
