I second that! Installs without any hassle, loads much, much faster than Acrobat, does an excellent job of rendering, and is free!

You can even put the .exe on a thumbdrive to use on the go.

i use repligo, it's not free but reasonable and incredibly useful, you can convert pdfs, html, ppt, almost anything to .rgo, then you can add notes, highlight and freely copy/synch desktop and PPC versions

Well, I tried foxit and it won't open my books. The books I downloaded are specifically for adobe. Since the books will open on the adobe desktop, but not on the ppc, will one of these applications allow me to open the books on the ppc and still use adobe on the desktop?

I realize it is free, but do they honestly expect people to buy their products if they can't even make the free ones work? I don't want to spend any money on something from then and then have to take the chance of something not working and then having to use their "customer service"?
I am looking for an alternative for the desktop and the ppc. I would prefer free, but at this point I just would like something that works.
Thanks

Adobe works fine on my X51V, been using it for months to read ebooks.

If you try to read PDF files on your PDA try ClairView Pro by Westtek. Will open pdf files on my x51v w/WM5.0. It does not convert files so you can read the pdf files on your PC w/Adobe and swap back and forth.

If they're using protected PDFs, that may not do it either. PocketXPDF does have support for password-protected PDF files, but otherwise he's better off using Adobe Reader 2 with updates (2577 is the latest version) and the adobereader.exe-409.mui fix.

Well, I have tried them all with no luck. Maybe it's because they are protected. I may just have to resort to reading them on the desktop. I have re-tried adobe and when I transfer the books the pages are blank.
I'm so frustrated.

Basically, is this file a DRM-ed PDF? As in purchased from an e-book site? If so... your readers may not be able to do it, not for portable reading.

That's what it is. Oh well, I guess I'll have to read it on the laptop.
Thanks anyway!

Repligo is the way to go; it reflows better, renders quicker and saves a great deal of space.
