Reading Adobe eBooks

Does anyone know what the deal with reading Adobe Reader eBooks in a PocketPC?

While there is an option to download Acrobat Reader for Pocket PC, Amazon explicitly says that it does not support eBooks.

I just ordereda H4150 and have many eBooks I bought previously for reading from my PC adn Palm.

The most Ironic thing is, I found out when trying to buy an eBook, the title is:

"How to do everything with your PocketPC."

Not Funny.

I wasn't aware that you could use Adobe Reader for eBooks. I thought you could only view PDF files with it.

Are you sure that you can read eBooks using Adobe Reader?

Yes Amazon sells Adobe Reader eBooks

Yes Adobe Reader reads eBooks but only eBooks sold in Adobe Reader formats. Note that these are special files with Adobe's DRM and needs to be activated onlint. It works fine both in Windows and Palm format. But apparently not in PPC format.

The Adobe ebook readers work only on Palm and desktops not on PPC. On Adobe's webiste they said they are working on a version that will work with PPC. Acrobat works great on PPC so I imagine that their ebook should also be when it is finished.

Adobe for PPC problem

I found an adobe ebook reader for pocket pc and loaded it onto my ipaq. It almost works well. The problem is that any ebook that you download has to be a "tagged pdf". If it is not "tagged" the conversion to ppc format is not possible. If you have adobe reader for laptop/desktop version 6 or greater, the ebook pdf file will automatically be tagged on dragging the ebook to your ppc from your laptop. Apparently "tagged" pdf allows for "reflow" which means that the ebook text can wrap around to fit the ppc screen. The problem is that this ad hoc tagging and subsequent reflow/ wrap around screen fit is off by about 3-6 letters. That is to say, the right margin always cuts off about 3-6 letters. I can switch to non-reflow format in the pocket pc but then you have to scroll horizontally as well as vertically to read the text. Any suggestions?

One cool thing is that even though I do not have landscape mode on my ppc the adobe program switches format for me. Unfortunately that still does not fix the right margin cut off.
Thanks, bluenrg
