I know this is an old message but I've just fallen foul of the Adobe PDF / Microsoft LIT battle too, so I thought I'd ask the same question.

I found an eBook on Amazon that really interested me, but saw that Amazon almost exclusively support the Adobe format. No problem I thought, there was a link on Amazon to the Adobe Reader website, where I could download Adobe Reader for Pocket PC's.

Downloaded Adobe Reader onto my 2210 without a hitch, although this also required downloading Adobe Reader v6 onto my PC and "activating" it, but still not a problem.

Bought my eBook from Amazon, seamlessly downloaded it into Adobe on the PC. Copied it across to my 2210, tried to open it on the Pocket PC....

....and hit the small print. Adobe Reader for Pocket PC does not read PDF eBooks. I was furious :bang:

Hidden away at the very bottom of Adobe's eBook FAQ they state "eBooks are not currently supported on the Adobe Reader for PocketPC since it does not include the Adobe DRM system. We will evaluate Pocket PC support for a future release if there is enough demand from consumers."

So while I wait for Adobe to develop an eBook reader for the most popular mobile platform on the planet, I shall go back to their rival formats.

But to return to the question above, is there any way I can convert the PDF eBook I have bought into something I can read on my 2210?

All you have to do is copy the text to a word document then use the ebook reader creator in the word program (I think you can get it from the microsoft site) Then just create your ebook and it should work just fine

Alas Adobe Reader will not allow me to copy (or print, or select) any text, it's thoroughly protected and all relevant buttons are grayed out.
I can only view the book on my desktop, in one location. Sort of takes away any advantage of having an eBook at all - I should have bought the paper copy.

There is a facility on the adobe website to convert PDF's to HTML. you basically email it to them... and they email you back a converted file.

Then you can copy and paste into word... and use the magical make lit file thing.. :) Sadly.. me not having word, means that I am stuck to scrolling like a CRAZED madman to read pdf ebooks.

I had the same trouble using Adobe 5.0. I upgraded to 6.0 and had no problem when I cut and pasted to Word.

I've converted pdf books to the RepliGo format and read them using RepliGo.
