When I attempt to activate Reader on the Microsoft website, I get the following error:
Activation Error
You have an older version of Pocket PC which does not support Activation. Activation requires Pocket PC 2002 or later.
This is a brand new iPAQ hx4705 with Pocket PC 2003, with the newest version of Reader freshly installed, connecting with ActiveSync 3.8.0. The only thing that I can think of that may be even slightly unusual about the setup is that I have installed the program to the SD card. So, I uninstalled and tried to reinstall to first the iPAQ file store, then to main memory, and I noticed that it reinstalls to the same place as originally specified, on the card. In any event, I get the same error message whenever I try to activate.
Any suggestions?

OK, so I found the problem - I needed to look a bit more in the forums to find the answer

Following those directions, I got the program to activate. Unfortunately, this solution requires eating up some main memory since Reader will not operate properly in anything else. One *more* reason to loathe Microsoft.
