Convert audio books on CD to MP3?

Hi! I have a couple audio books on CD I'd like to convert to MP3 for my IPAQ. I suddenly find none of my software will do the conversion (Cakewalk Sonar, older version of Nero, & Win Media Player.)

I really don't want to buy another stand alone ap 'cause I won't use it that much. Any suggestions on a free conversion ap (that works and doesn't bundle with adware or worse?)
thanks,
Nick

I use CDex for my audiobook cds to MP3. Not the nicest interface, but it's free.

http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/downloads.php

After it loads in the CD, select 'Convert' then 'Extract CD tracks to a Compressed Audio File'. I don't know if you can change bitrates or not.

Windows Media 10 will rip Audio CD's to WMA files to play on your device.

Whooo-hooo! Thanks guys, great info. I'll give them all a try. (Thanks CEC for the tip on Win Media 10 - I wasn't thinking about WMA files, had it in my head I had to get to MP3!)

I have used Roxio, Nero, and iTunes to rip audio CDs. Audio books are nothing more than standard audio CDs, any program should be able to rip them.

Second for CDex, great software that has never let me down. Produces good quality mp3. Very simple to use, no fuss.

Convert Books on CD to play on your MP3 player

try

"Convert Books on CD to play on your MP3 player $0 ship"

which is on eBay. It keeps the tracks in the correct order and prevents them from being over written

WMP10.. you already have it, you can select the bitrate, it will sync to your PDA.
