Here is Microsoft's Reader Site, they offer FREE Full Featured Ebooks. They did this to promote and get people to use Microsoft Reader. Anyways, you need to have Microsoft Reader 2.2 (See Aximsite's Download Page and then Dell Patches to find the download or find it on the Microsoft Website) and you need to have Reader Activated (It shows you how on a link). And you're off!

segadc,
Definately jump on this MS Reader weekly download. Once you get the new reader downloaded and activated, its very simple every week . They have 3 books every week with each group ending at noon Fridays. They actually have quite a varity from fairly recent SciFi to classics. No repeats or backing up if you miss any.

There's always the Baen Free Library if you're into Sci-Fi.

Project Gutenberg for free public domain ebooks/etexts.

The Earthbound Trilogy, a free sci-fi trilogy posted by the author.

There are more, easily found with your favorite web search engine...

I have a site for you . There are a lots of books there that can be read with ereader and other readers which you can get. There are lots of books and tons of reference stuff. Go to www.memoware.com and check that out. I downloaded tons of it. Its really a nice site. There are a lot of books and stuff for Palm, but you can get a palm reader for Pocket PC and read them as well. Hope this helps.

Add one more to your list of recommendations: blackmask.com. Thousands of books, all public domain (typically old classics). Right up my alley, maybe of interest to others.

Also, unless I am missing something, memoware.com doesn't support MSReader (not listed in the searchable formats, anyway), in fact I am unfamiliar with most of the listed formats.

That's what search engines were built for...

Memoware does have some MS Reader LIT ebooks, by the way.

Any of their stuff that says Doc means Palm Doc aka Aportis Doc (ie. any reader that claims to support PDB/PRC can read it).

TomeRaider books require, interestingly enough, the TomeRaider reader (I didn't care for it, personally)

Plucker is a Palm ebook format. The only Plucker reader for Pocket PC I know of is Vade Mecum which is currently in alpha release 3, so I have not tried it.

MobiPocket PRC books require - oh my - the MobiPocket reader.

And so on...

also, fictionwise. com has some free stuff, mostly older stuff that is now public domain-most is available on ms reader as well as other formats. they usually give you a choice of what format you want to download. btw, baen.com freebooks are all current authors, most are fantastic, and i strongly recommend david weber. good space opera!
