Word 2003 does not support save to .lit

A note that may or may not be of interest to the E-book comunity here. To support my wifes work as a Secretary to the dean of the collage at which she works, we installed MS OFFICE 2003. All went well and we spent some time learning the new setups and styles etc. Well I went to download the plugin for MS Word that allows a user to save a document into a lit file and to my disapointment found that MS does not support that plugin for the MS Office 2003 version of Office. I have not found that 2003 allows any other way to save a lit file but I am still looking, don't really think I will find it.

MS continues to amaze me with its efforts to IMPROVE al of thier software.

I recently upgraded to Office 2003 at home, and my frustration with the problem you describe is intense (along with frustration at other "features" but don't get me started on MS....). Is there any way to find out if a version of the plug-in for 2003 is in the works?

Uh, I'm using the plugin just fine, thanks. Word 2003 and all.

Thats interesting

When I looked went to dowload the plugin it stated that it was not compatible with Office 2003 and as such I did not download it. If it is workign for you I will give it a try.

I have tried it with Word 2003 and gotten repeated error messages instead of books. Maybe something to do with the normal template? Or documents converted to 2003 from previous versions?

I tried Reader Studio and it works pretty well, although some of the hyperlinks to and from footnotes did not come through. I will keep an eye out for newer editions.
