Do you mean, the lendable books from the ebook library are in mobi reader format?
I guess what I was trying to say is that some ebook formats already accomodate lending in their format, so an ebook library wouldn't necessarily need to monkey with files, as was discussed earlier in the thread.
This thread had brougt up a question I had had for a while. Quite a while ago, I purchased an ebook from Amazon as a Reader file. (They only support Reader for Pocket PCs). But the problem is that now I'd like to lend this ebook to a friend. Since I got it in Reader format, I can't lend it. Are you saying that Mobi Reader does allow you to lend an ebook to a friend? I checked their website and can't find anything about it.
Since I bought that book, I have started using Fictionwise, and they do support Mobi Reader. So, if it does support lending, this is good news. I love reading ebooks on my Axim. I have two small kids, and with this, I can help them go to sleep at night, and still read with the lights off. On the other hand, I'm part of a family culture where we pass books around when we're done with them. Other than that, ebooks are perfect.
