amazon.com is cheaper--you're more likely to find a "discounted" book.
as for prices, there has been a lot of discussion on pricing before, but just because the supply of a book costs less (no shipping, etc.) that doesn't mean it will be cheaper.
The market price is whatever market demand will support--it has nothing do to (usually) with how much a good costs to the supplier.
And apparently the market supports regular book prices....
amzon.com really isn't that bad since they started disounting random ebooks (not much, but still helpful) last fall.
