stupid question. does microsoft reader actually read to you or is it an app to store your books on the pda to read? school me please.

MS Reader for PC can read the text to you. On the PPC, you need to read the text since it does not read it to you.

I just got my X30 today and am I correct that they didnt install MS Reader on the new ones?

On the new Dell Axim X30's you won't find MS reader already installed. You'll need to go to Microsoft and downlaod it and perform the install. The rational behind it all was why load something permanently when it's likely you'll want to load new versions in the future.

As for the other post, you there is a program or two that will read stuff for you on the pocket PC. I forgot which one it was I had a long time ago but it would read my emails or anything I cared to cut and past to it. You might do a search on handango.com or one of the other PPC software sales places and I bet you can find some.

Also if you see any software site for the PPC listed on this site, you should go check 'em out there since those guys are the ones that help us all out on here by helping keep this site going by sponsorship.
