Olivetree!!!
I just bought a bible from olivetree.com and had a slight problem getting it to download, (turned out to be my own fault, by the way) and those guys were right there to help me within minutes. Talk about customer support! They know what it takes to make a customer happy. If anybody is looking for a good (FREE) bible program, In my opinion olivetree is the way to go. They also have bibles that are free and others you can buy.
Anyway, I've had a good experience with them and wanted to pass it on to anyone interested.

I've never purchased any Bibles from them, but their bible reader is the quickest and smallest I've seen... and it is my main reader.

I used Olivetree with my Palm OS but didn't like the Pocket PC version (six months ago). I REALLY like Pocket e-Sword, and there is a lot of free stuff to go with it. www.e-sword.net

Yeah, but e-sword is so slow to load, and it's a memory hog too. I'll stick with olivetree.

I love the Olive Tree Bible software! What makes it so great is that when you use it you get the entire "package"...great software, great support, frequent meaningful updates, etc. The Olive Tree website states they will be able to distribute the NIV by March of 2005 which will give them the full range of current versions. In addition, I have written the development team and made some suggestions for improving the notes features which they ARE considering. If the improve this feature, they will have an unbeatable solution in my opinion.

I don't think you will find a free NIV. That's the way the copyright holders are.
BTW, Olive Tree will start selling the NIV in April 2005.

I have Pocket eSword on my Axim 30 & it can't copy text. Anyone else having this problem?
I'm currently trying 3 bibles & am finding OliveTree's to be the best! I just wish the words of Christ were red.

Love the Laridian Pocket Bible ( www.laridian.com). Lots of different versions available including NIV and many others. It is not free (reader or translations) but great interface.

The newest version of Pocket E-Sword which was just released a few days ago seems to load faster. He has also updated some of the Bibles and other reference materials. Pocket E-Sword is my favorite and has more resources available for it than OliveTree. I also have OliveTree on my PPC and like it very much. They both support WM2003se. I think for freeware they are both excellent Bible software. They were both nominated in the Pocket PC Magazine Best Software Awards 2004.
Peace and God bless,
Rob Bond
