need help with MS Reader activation

I have been unable to activate MS Reader on my X30 after performing a hard reset and reinstalling the software.

Have tried reinstalling to both BIS and SD card, Reader works fine from either with free ebooks, but when run activation from the MS site it says will only work with PC2002 or later? I'm running WM2003SE.

I've also tried uninstalling RegKing hacks in case that was doing something, and have read the pinned-up thread on activation issues, and nothing works.

Has anyone else had this problem?

TIA!

I struggled with the same problem last week. I tried to activate using my desk top computer but kept receiving the same error message you're receiving.

I had just about given up, but then decided to try using my lap top. I was able to activate through my lap top on the second try.

I'm trying to think of why it wouldn't have gone through on my desktop, the only thing I can think of is that my desktop had the Windows SP2 update.

Thanks, will see if I can find another desktop to activate from.
